Grant Writing Workshop and a Dance Company
Today was the end of the grant writing workshop. I met many academics from various universities. Their comment and feedback made me realize that I do want to build a dance company. A research dance company. Lets call it DGSProjects for now, although it is not very fancy: This company will tour presenting multimedia performances, site-specific and dance installations at galleries, museums, universities and alternative places. The core and heart of this company will be Butoh and Dance and Technology concepts. DGSProjects will also provide two kind of workshops one in Butoh and Butoh Ritual Mexicano (Taught by Diego Piñon, Sheri Brown and me) and the other in Dance and Technology ( Eunsu Kang and me). As a community component for this research dance company I want to build a website where other dance researchers can post their projects and explain what are their initiatives. The goal for this membership website will be to have a database of dance researchers and projects so at some point their work can be funded and developed (This means that DGSProjects would need to work as a dance foundation (?) as well, but I don't know how this can be done)
